ICARUS© (Information Capture and Retrieval System) is a market data acquisition, storage and retrieval platform intended to provide statistical market information to users on a real-time basis for freight and asset market historical data. The primary input of data is manual on a daily basis but there will be provision to process large amounts of formatted data for new data series, etc
SEARCH & RETRIEVAL
The ability to conduct detailed, multi-level searches based on a selection of data attributes will be provided. Provision to save these searches for future use will be included. Search results will not be limited but user warnings will exist in the case of malformed searches yielding large result sets. These warnings will query the user to proceed with returning a large set of results or to terminate and reform the search.
DATA INPUT
The primary day-to-day data input to the system will be manual by users via a quick input pop-up window. A secondary input method will be a mass data import via a Microsoft Excel file.

ICARUS© will perform six types of calculations.
TCE - Time Charter Equivalents
Uniform basis result sets factored with WS100 and CPI
Numerical Statistics of time series data (aggregation by time frequency)
Arithmetic operations between data series
Statistical analysis
Frequency diagram and normal curve distributions
